Carmen & Wagner |
Hi, I'm Carmen the Cool Cat. This is my friend, Wagner, sometimes known
as the Peace-Able Pup. He tells great jokes, and we both love to sing
and dance. We have been talking to kids about being Too Good for Drugs
and living in a peace-able place since 1984. We are excited about sharing
our important message with you!
Friends R HappeningFriends R Happening is an interactive musical theatre production teaching drug and violence prevention to Kindergarten students in the Tampa Bay area. Large walk-about characters, Carmen the Cool Cat and Wagner the Peace-Able Pup, teach students that the best friend to have is a "safe" friend. Children receive messages about the danger of drugs and guns. They also learn ways to resist peer pressure and make good decisions. Together, through singing and dancing, Carmen and Wagner teach children that they are Too Good for Drugs and Violence. The Mendez Foundation and the children of Tampa thank the Department of Children and Family Services and the Governor's Drug-Free Communities Grant for making the touring of this show possible. Talk It OutThe Talk It Out show is a musical theatre production featuring life-size walk-about characters who send a drug-free message to elementary school age children through lively songs and toe-tapping dance routines. The performance is designed to promote drug prevention skills such as goal setting, decision making, effective communication and peer pressure refusal. This show is a sequel to the popular Friends R Happening production, in which the main characters, Carmen the Cool Cat and Wagner the Peace-Able Pup, learn that in spite of their differences, they can become good friends.
